About

My work is shaped by a curiosity about the world around me and a focus on landscape.

Who I am.

I've always been captivated by nature, constantly inspired by its ever-changing landscapes. Living in and exploring some of New Zealand and Australia’s most breathtaking areas. I now call Tasmania home.

With the rugged Bass Strait and wild beauty of Narawntapu National Park at my doorstep, my work is continually shaped by the local landscapes I explore. Through my sketches, foraged materials, and photographs, I filter the essence of my environment—the moody waters, windswept grasses, untamed coast, or even the simple charm of a seed pod. My studio is filled with nature’s finds, tucked into every nook and cranny—a constant resource and reflection of the landscapes that echo in my work.

Nature, in all its forms, is both my model and my muse.

What I do.

Over the years, I’ve explored various art mediums—acrylics, oils, pastels, textiles and printmaking.

Printmaking remains my favourite.

Whether it is etching, dry point, linocut, mono printing or using a Gelli plate, I find great satisfaction in the process of preparing a plate, inking it up, and pulling the final print. This practice has also inspired me to explore collage, where I layer prints with other mediums to create something new.

At the heart of my studio sits a late-1800s letterpress, a hefty relic that produces beautiful, debossed lettering—a nod to a slower, more intentional way of working. With it, I weave a dialogue between the written word and my art, bringing an added layer to many of my compositions.

My work is a journey of exploration and discovery—through collage, mixed media, and print.

My story.

Art has always been part of my life, quietly present alongside the different roles I’ve worked in over the years.

Gradually, it has become a more central part of my life and identity. I have exhibited in Tasmania and New Zealand and have also curated at a local gallery. I’ve completed a range of structured art courses and continue to attend workshops and classes to explore and develop different techniques and mediums. In 2022, I had the opportunity to complete an online course with Tara Axford. This experience helped me clarify the subtle details within the landscape and recognise what most inspires me.

I’ve also collected a growing library of books about artists who inspire me. One of my favourite ways to spend time is in the studio with a cup of tea and a stack of those books, learning from their work and their stories.

Who inspires me.

I'm inspired by artists who simplify and respond to the natural world.

From Matisse’s cut-outs to Margaret Preston’s bold prints and Cressida Campbell’s quiet still life’s. I’m drawn to those who find clarity in form and a connection to place. Contemporary artists like Tara Axford and Lorna Crane, also influence my process—particularly their use of layered materials, observation, and intuition.

My own work explores landscape as a language, using collage, printmaking, letterpress, and a muted, earthy palette to reflect the quiet complexity of nature.
